ALERT: Net Neutrality Earns Victory
By Chuck In Uncategorized On March 20, 2015
I’d like to point out and article on Net Neutrality. There was a victory in Washington this week for everyone who uses the internet. In a nutshell, major internet providers like Comcast and Verizon want to charge providers/consumers based on the traffic generated or consumed. All traffic on the internet should be treated equally. If an internet provider is upset by the types of traffic on their network, get out of the business.
On 26 February 2015, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) ruled in favor of net neutrality by reclassifying broadband access as a telecommunications service and thus applying Title II (common carrier) of the Communications Act of 1934 to Internet service providers. On 12 March 2015, the FCC released the specific details of its new net neutrality rule. And on 13 April 2015, the FCC published the final rule on its new regulations.
